Hi, I'm Ash.
I'm a software engineer, and outside of work I build things because I want them to exist - a multiplayer mod for a 25-year-old game, a MIDI player that shouldn't need Java, whatever's next.
What I do
I'm a software engineer, and outside of that I build and maintain side projects that usually start with "this should exist" - most recently a live, self-hosted multiplayer service for a Pokémon ROM decompilation project, and a cross-platform MIDI player for retro soundfont playback.
I care about shipping things that actually run in production - SilphNet has a real PHP/MySQL backend, real uptime, and real users adding each other by Trainer ID, not just a GitHub repo that never left "demo" stage.
Music & content
As AshJam, I run JAM.TV, a record label and hub that grew out of AshJam Media (2009). It's where my music, video, and streaming work lives.
